I'm so excited to share my podcast interview with you. In this interview I share more details about several facts from my books. You won't want to miss it!
I'm so excited to announce that my second book is at the printer's and due out on February 1st. It can be pre-ordered from Amazon right now. If you liked the first book, I think you will like this one even more!
A few weeks ago I had wrist surgery on my favorite hand. Maybe you've never thought about having a favorite hand before, but if I asked you to choose one to lose, I bet you would realize that you do have a favorite. Mine is my left hand, because I am left handed. For nearly two years I have struggled with pain while playing the piano and a decrease in strength. Right after the surgery, I quickly realized there were a lot of things I couldn't do, such as button my pants. It took three weeks for me to rebuild the strength needed to zip up my temple dress. I missed the temple. When I went back in, the peace was there waiting for me, welcoming me, washing over me. As we enter one of the most stressful months of the year ( I lovingly call it Deathcember), I invite you to remember where peace can be found and take some time to visit the House of the Lord.
Today my author copies of "250 Fascinating Facts about LDS Temples" arrived in the mail. I think my kids were even more excited than I was! They were my BIGGEST fans while I wrote this book. Being a mother is the most important thing I have ever done and will ever do, but having my children support me in my dream to be an author is like icing on most delicious cake ever baked. I'm talking about the good kind of cake, a homemade cake made with butter and topped with real whipped cream flavored with vanilla from Mexico because no other vanilla is worthy, and topped with Bluebell ice cream from Texas. That is how good this feels. Thank you to all of my friends and family for supporting me and believing in me.
I had the sweetest encounter today. I took three of my children to sing "The Armor of God" with their cousins at their Primary talent show. After it was over, a few little girls told me they loved the song. One of them put her hand on her chest and said, "I felt something here." I bore my testimony to her that she felt the Holy Ghost confirming to her that following the teachings of the song -to study the scriptures, pray, and keep the commandments- will protect her and bring her happiness. She then bore her testimony back to me and told me that she knows God is protecting her. She is 9 years old and for the last year has been struggling with short gut syndrome. This little girl has a feeding tube surgically implanted in her abdomen, an IV line in her arm covered by a leg warmer, and a burning knowledge that God knows her and loves her.
